Like most industries, the cannabis community can sometimes feel dominated by men. But let’s reminisce on the wonderful contributions women have made to the world of weed and the fabulous women paving the way for cannabis today.

Hatshepsut, a powerful female Pharoah of ancient Egypt, used hemp products to lessen menstrual pain. And there is evidence that women during this time used hemp during childbirth to alleviate the immense pain.

Skipping forward a whole lot, women also used cannabis during the Victorian Era. The very proper Queen Victoria supposedly indulged in some cannabis to relieve menstrual cramps. You may be noticing a pattern having to do with periods here, but there is a high suspicion menstrual cramps were only one benefit these women enjoyed when consuming hemp.

For those of us that watched cannabis slowly become legal and witnessed the culture shift from a negative stigma to an accepted plant, we owe a lot to American cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead

This woman said what no one would do during the War on Drugs: weed is no worse than the alcohol and cigarettes all adults indulge in. She attacked the hypocrisy of the War on Drugs and paved the way for cannabis to be as widely accepted in America as it is today.

Women in history were commonly seen or labeled as healers. And what is more healing than a well-rolled joint?

These women toked so that us lady-stoners of the 21st century could have a place in the cannabis industry, and we certainly do!

The Honey Pot cannabis company has received a plethora of rewards for its high-quality products and impressive brand, exemplifying the sway a woman can have in the weed world.

We never want to forget the incredible stoner women that paved the way for us to be a successful company, and we will be eternally grateful.
